Kevin wanted a casual birthday celebration this year and a 1/6th keg.... so we decided to do a taco bar, a few salads and of course cake!
I made a kale salad and tried out a few new recipes, one for a slaw and one for a beet salad with arugula from our yard.
We cooked a pork butt in the over overnight and then smoked it a little on the grill. We also made some steak and grilled chicken.
We have a new cast iron pan for our grill that we tried out for jalapeƱo poppers.
The Birthday Boy was the first to test out the taco bar which consisted of
meats, Rancho Gordo eye of the goat beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cheese, red salsa, homemade tomatillo salsa, homemade guacamole, sour cream and hot sauce.
