sweet & savory brunch

It's a beautiful rainy Saturday morning and we couldn't decide if we felt like pancakes or eggs so we decided on a little of each and made crepes. 

But first I went into the yard to pick some greens from the garden to go in our savory crepes and found our first strawberry! 


I used the Joy of Cooking  recipe for Crepes which is simplified below
Mix together
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Beat together
  • 2/3 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients




The Savory Side
Bloody Mary with a crepe filled with a fried egg, cheese, fresh picked arugula & kale and salt and pepper
The Sweet Side
Coffee with a crepe filled with mango and strawberry drizzled with maple syrup
